is substrate meant to change colour?
    #868732 - 09/07/02 12:16 PM (14 years, 11 months ago)

hi, i innoc'd some brf/verm jars about a week ago..........looking at them now i see that most of them have changed colour from their pastey white colour to a dark brown colour (it looks as tho there is only vermiculite in the jars).

there doesnt seem to be anything growing in the jars...just changed colour.

is this normal?

if at first you don't succeed... try this
for ten jars
7 cups verm
2 1/2 cups brf
600cc h2o
can't go wrong with that

well after reading thru loads of posts in the contamination forum ive decided i have defintaley been hit by Bacteria.

after reading thru the contam forum i went back to look at the jars....i had a look at some other  jars i did a few days ago and 1 of them has got blotches dotted around the jar just like whats happened to all of the substrate in the infected jars :frown:.

well, fingers crossed for the remaining 6 jars i got :s

maybe i was taking on too much when i decided to try the honeytek before id even grown from normal spores yet.......the honey seemed great tho, no infections in it at all, just white fluffy myc*....oh well, back to the drawing board.
