cleaning the shrooms

I was wondering what most people did to remove the casing material from the ends after harvest. Can i wash it off?

any suggestions would help

i break most of it off when i pick them, let em dry mostly, then scrape the rest off wuth my thumb nail or a knife. Fnally i use an old clean tooth brush to clean off any leftover dirt on the mushroom.

When there dry I don't seem to have any trouble getting it off its only when there fresh. but i like to consume them fresh, they taste less shitty

i do remove as much as i can with my figernail when i pick them but theres always crap you can't get off

Oh, I understand ,same here .I take an x-acto knife and kindof whittle the base down.
