Any experience with Cracked Corn?

Does anyone have any experience with cracked corn?
I read in a tek you can boil it without soaking which would be a great advantage for my situation.
Im not so much looking for opinions. If anyone has first hand experience with this Id love to hear how it went for you.
Thanks a lot

I don't recommend it. I had pretty shitty yields with it, but I only used it once. It could have been something that I did, but I have heard the same from many others.
I think if I did it a few more times, and refined my methods I would have gotten decent yields.

How does the spawn grain effect yield?
If one batch of coir was knocked up with spawn x, and another batch knocked up with spawn y, why would one outperform the other?
The grain will actually effect the life cycle of the mycelium?

The mycelium feeds off of the substrate. It uses its nutrients. I'm pretty sure corn doesn't have a whole lot of nutrients for it.

CORN FUCKING ROCKS. if it was not for corn i would not be doing this any more. Corn is great full colonization in 14days great yield that guy just had bad luck i guess, i use corn for Inside and Outdoor Teks As for not soaking ive never tried it but i always let it soak so there Corn can get water Just in case you never know when you mycelium might have to little water and by that time it would be to late but Corn is so perfect and totally the way to go

I used to use popcorn for cloning but switched to agar cuz its way easier to work with. I never did spawn with corn...I'm a rye guy. I would also use popcorn as an alternative to an LC by soaking,PC'ing 1/4 pint jars, then inoculating with 3 drops of re hydrated spores via syringe.

Once fully colonized I would PC 3 or 4 blanks filled 80% with water, purge through the injection port of corn jar, shake the shit out of it, then draw the now "liquid myc" via syringe and knock up my rye jars.
If your confused, see my agar tek in my sig and replace all ingredients with just re hydrated popcorn.

I stand corrected. As I said though I have only done it once, and didn't like it so I quit. I may try it again. I have a full bag still sitting around.

I use chicken feed which is about 1/3 cracked corn. It works very well and seems to be more forgiving than millet for moisture content. I never boil, just soak 12 hours, rinse in cold water, leave to drain 30 mins.
I'm guessing the round things are rye berry. Not sure about the other ones. Any ideas?
Whole corn doesn't sound good because of bad surface area to volume ratio. As grain is generally used to spawn bulk sub, I doubt different types will affect yield much. Smaller grain gives better surface area to volume ratio which means more inoculation points when spawning, so faster colonisation of the substrate. That's why millet's the best.
