If you put something in there to raise the temperature I could see it being nice cause it would retain the heat inside the terranium. Other wise I don't see an advantage to it because it wont hold in heat if there is nothing heating the inside of it... if there is a big difference between night and day temperature it may be helpful but most basements are a stable temperature through out the day.

It would be like using a cooler... (like me!)

Razor blade + saran wrap + duct tape = window in this case.

The last two things you want to do is either heat or insulate a fruiting chamber.  Warm the general area the fruiting chamber is located if it's below 70F, but not the FC itself.

Well I have it as a incubator right now because in my apt. I like it around 73 or so during the day and around 60 when I sleep. so in order to keep the temperature stable so the myc will grow without stalling I keep it in a cooler with no heating pad or anything just so it will be stable.

When the fruiting comes along I'm going to cut a rectangle in the top and cover with thin plastic, the run it as a casing. Its not a plastic cooler it's styrofoam.

I'm experimenting.
