I am just wondering if anyone knew how to dig up a shroom and attempt to let it mature so it can spray its spore to produce many more shrooms.

Take a shovel and Dig Far enough around it so you have about two hands worth of a hold around it then put it in a terrarium. As long as the Shroom has not been separated form its Root System(Mycelium) it should still Grow under the right conditions.

You leave it in its natural environment until it's ready to drop spores, and then pick it at that time, bring it indoors and take a spore print. RR

If the mushrooms were growing on trees, they could take years to grow wherever you put them. If they grow at all.
Do you have a specific goal so we could maybe help you some more? OR you just want pretty mushrooms on your trees?

Removing it from the main "plant", (mycelium) causes the fruit, (mushroom), to stop growing.
I found a Shaggy Mane, (C. comatus), in my backyard yesterday. In my moronic excitement, I plucked it. The cap had not yet opened. Hopefully the mycelium will grant me another chance...

I hope you aren't eating random mushrooms with no ID. It does not matter if it is not active, it might still be deadly. Also I would assume that more will grow in the spot you originally found them.

The description of yellow cap and white stem could be a whole lot of different mushrooms.

Here are some that I found that might just be what your talking about. yellow, scaly cap and white fibrous, stem. Spore print is a burgandy color. They were growing inside of a old dead tree. It was pretty cool actually. They appear 2 times a year, about 6 months apart, first when it's just getting warm, and again when it's just getting cold. These are edible, but in limited quanity after cooking. Otherwise you get very sick.
DO NOT EAT ANYTHING YOU HAVEN"T GROWN YOURSELF> Period.
Or bought in the store.
Plus, one mushrooms will NOT be enough to risk it anyways.

and that dosent mean if you get spores from an unknown wild mushroom that its ok if you grow it. lol never eat any unknown mushroom. look up "death cap" or "destroying angel" they look harmless enough. there is a mushroom hunting forum on this site with many experienced hunters. i advise posting pics of any unknown mushrooms and people will try to I.D. what you have. Take pictures of every angle with a good camera. also take a spore print because the color and shape of the spores could be what makes the I D. you have to understand THE SMALLEST detail may be the differance between life and death.
