terrible results with wax paper
    #8681663 - 07/25/08 08:00 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

So I have tried the idea not to use a casing layer instead just you a sheet of wax paper to keep the Rh on the sub. I am having terrible side pinning. I am use the exact same condition i used with just a wet layer of pasteurized verm and they did MUCH better. It may just be me but I'm not convinced I will ever do it again.

HAPPY SH ROOMING

Side pinning indicates your substrate is too dry.

What kind of substrate did you use? If it had poor moisture retention (like straight grains) then it would need the casing layer to act as a water reservoir.
