stop doing that
its not needed.
if theres a contam in there its gonna contam whether or not you wipe.
u can just micropore tape the holes and leave it be.
but if theres not a contam, everytime you take that foil off your giving another opurtunity for it to be introduced.

it does.
wiping it that once to get it clean was all good.
but dont continue this.
just set em and forget em, theyll colonize soon enough if everything is sterile and viable

And avoid turning them upside down. You can get your verm layer wet, or ricy and invite contams that way.

what i do, if the bottom seems too packed and slowly colonizing, i'll turn it upsidedown and smack it... like how you'd birth a cake... and then let it slide back down. this sucks some new air into the bottom of the jar, plus it breaks a seal between sometimes packed in substrate that is airtight and preventing myc growth.
just a suggestion, instead of leaving the jars upsidedown. even with wiping your lid, if your verm gets moist, it will invite contams. plus, just dont wipe. if anything, you'd wanna wipe yoru hands with alcohol or wear gloves and wear them with alcohol before lifting jars out to look at growth rate, instead of wiping the jar.
GL with the grow! let us know how it goes
