Buying syringes...
    #8679922 - 07/25/08 10:51 AM (16 years, 5 months ago)

Are there any stores that i could purchase syringes from? Walgreens,CVS or something of the sort? Im not a fan of ordering things online. I have trust issues with so called "secure" pay options? Thanks for the help.

You can always buy a Visa giftcard from Walmart or Walgreens. It's pre-loaded with a set amount of cash and works just like a debit or credit card. Some people have trouble getting empty syringes depending on location - if this is the case and you're sketched out about giving your credit card number out online, this is your next best option.

You can pick needles up at CVS/Walgreens pharmacy but depending on the state you may need to have an RX. Also most Walgreens only carry 18g and if you want anything larger you will have to make a special order.

Ralphster's sells empty syringes, and they don't require a card you just send a form + money through mail, and then get the syringes in a couple of days.

I second that! I was at Tractor Supply Co. last week looking for other supplies and just ran right into "veterinary" syringes. I bought two 60cc syringes for those big batches! Probably overkill, but it was only a few bucks. Needles are right there too and the 18 ga. ones work a little better with thick LC's and myc water than the 18 1/2 ga. ones we all have from our first prore purchases. The cashier didn't even give me a second look, although giant syringes and large bore needles aren't exactly the first choice of junkies.

go to the feed store, even tho nobody really gives a shit that youre buying syringes, they are much more easily obtainable there.

i think theyre for giving steroids and antibiotics to livestock or somethin

but you look like a farmer when you shop there, and a druggie when you shop at walgreens etc.

Never tried that one before.   I just walk in and tell them exactly what i want and they go and get it, no questions asked. When i go to the feed store i usually buy small needles because i vaccinate my dogs my self. In less your acting really shady i don't think they would even give it a second thought.

If they do happen to question you don't act surprised just say that your sister or who ever sent you to pick up the needles, she needs them for administering antibiotics to her horse. The reason i said say its your sister is so they dont ask questions about the type of antibiotic, you dont know its not your horse. But they will prob never ask.

There's a shortage of some dog vaccines right now (I think). If you see a sign to that efect, an inquiry as to when they will be in stock again would help to dispell any suspicion.

I also bought a bottle of 50% Dextrose solution. It was only a few bucks and will probably be useful for several projects. It provided an obvious use for the syringes too.

There are plenty of other good supplies in livestock sections. I finally found some of those gloves that go up to my armpits. At the very least, you can buy gloves/masks at the same time if your supplies are looking a little low. The more "non-druggie" stuff you buy, the less anyone will think anything is going on. The fact that we actually need alot of the stuff there is a huge bonus - just try to buy all at once.
