It probably will not harm the existing mushrooms, but that side will be less likely to pin next time. Why not just set up a mirror on the back side of the terrarium to even out the light?

You don't need a mirror, just paint the other side of the terrarium white or cover the outside (if it's glass) with white cloth or paper. That should reflect enough light to get the other side to pin.

Oh yeah! Good point, Sclorch. I forgot that is a method I read about being used in closet cultivation of MJ. Flat white paint (or paper) reflects light more effectively than a mirror. Try this.

If you're lazy like me, just use tin foil-it's less work.
