My Shotgun FC....Overkill on the holes? (PICS!)

I have to of those energy saving lights rigged to stimulate big fruits and a heat light in the middle cuz it can get cold in my basement. Are the lights even a good idea? Also do you think i drilled to many holes? Thanks in advance!

You are never supposed to heat a FC .....you heat the room if needed NOT the FC
I also use more holes ...in the bottom too

yeah, reason i asked about the light OP is cuz any extra heat in there is gonna make it drier. if im not mistaken.
and they dont need intense light like cannibis.
a 13w cfl would suffice

Your holes look okay but keep an eye on the humidity anyway. I've had major issues with humidity because of the holes in my FC. It depends on a lot of factors; my room has very low humidity and a lot of air movement so those leach my FC's humidity. I'm working with the issue by just taping up some of the holes. Most people don't have an issue, but if you do, you can try the same

why can't you just heat the chamber if the temp gets low? I wasn't planning on having it on at all times i put it inn just in case the temp did go to low i could turn it on for like 10 min or so. I understand that mushrooms barely need any light but someone on here told me the best thing they ever did was put in two of those lights because it helps get bigger fruits and more of them, he said it also helps them grow up. Is that all true? thanks for the help everyone keep it coming!

No... they are just in the wrong spectrum to really act as a pinning trigger...
you need to be in the 6500k range or Blue Spectrum. the lights you need actually seem to blind you due to the UV and look from the other room at night like theres a TV on in the other room

interesting....so i should remove the heat lamp and heat outside the FC or heat the room if the temp needs to go up and replace the lights with bluer lights or in the 6500 range. Hopefully walmart will just let me buy the lid only to a bin haha.
well thanks everyone I really appriciate it

Number of holes looks fine to me. Make sure you lift the fc a few inches of the ground. And a lot more perlite...

That's perhaps some of the worst advice I've read on this board in a long time. It's a simple repeat of incorrect information in Stamets' TMC from 20+ years ago, that he doesn't even still repeat. Paul now recommends 12/12 of bright fluorescent light in the 6,500 Kelvin color temperature range.
Your light is fine, and bright light is always better, but as said, don't heat your terrarium. It will cause your precious humidity to be turned into condensation on the walls. Heat the general area the terrarium is located, but not the terrarium itself. Good luck.
Get your terrarium off that carpet, and make sure you have holes in the bottom and top as well. You need at least 1" of air space below the terrarium. Your humidity will actually increase if you'll follow the tek. The only problem I see is those appear to be larger than 1/4" holes(6mm). It must be remembered that a 1/2" hole is 4 times as large as a 1/4" hole, so by going larger you can screw things up. RR

thanks RR all the holes exept the ones on the top are 1/4" but I think I'm gunna replace the lid anyways.
So it looks like I will just take out the heat lamp, get it off the towel, add more perlite and put some blocks under the corners to lift it up. Also I will make sure the bulbs I have are in the 6500k range.

That's a good question. I've always heard the word observative, but was unable to get a solid grasp utilizing internet sources as to whether it is an acceptable usage or not... I didn't look in a real dictionary, sorry. The spellcheck here and in Word says NO...
It is kind of clumsy sounding...
