Spoon bending???
    #8677095 - 07/24/08 04:46 PM (15 years, 8 months ago)

How does this work?

We were all talking about a presenter at the conference on the bus with Dennis Mckenna - who was supposedly able to bend spoons with his mind, and do remote viewing - of course everyone was skeptical claiming they´d rearrange their entire belief system if its true..

Anyways, i wasnt at the conference, but i had to trip sit Ayano (this girl i was drinking ayahuasca with, and is now at my hostal - san pedro gone wrong) - So i see this totally mangled fork mangled to the point it looked like it had been folded over and over and run over by a train, or pounded with a sledge hammer...

She did it.

She said at first she couldn´t do it - but the presenter came to her and told her to focus on all the energy of the sun and put its power into the fork - + tada, mutilated fork (it was a burly fork too)

She said some of the people could hold one end of their utensil and spin it around, plyable like rubber.

What do you think about this?

That fork could have been pounded with a sledge hammer or folded over and over and run over by a train, by your friends no less.  It sounds like your friends are trying to mess with you.

I'm thinking one way to do this would be two have the spoon made of two different metals (this is how a thermostat works by the way).  So you keep it stored in a cold container and when you take it out, one metal will stard to expand at a different rate than the other, therefore bending it.  Simple

Wow, good idea!  I dont think thats how they do it, its normally just slight of hand.

But if you did make that spoon, you could do the trick over and over, at any angle.

it is dangerous. unfortunately most human beings are too closed minded and set in their ways that if you show them something that defies an entire lifetime of knowledge and learning, especially the religious, it would rock their foundation.

If you can do it then do it in a lab.  You'd only have to bend the spoon a few millimeters and you would be paid millions.  There are many people who are offering huge rewards to anybody that can prove this in lab conditions.

The problem is they can't because so far everybody that has tried has used the classic slight of hand trick for spoon bending.  The one the Uri Geller used as part of his act to get famous.  People still believe he can do it even though hes been caught out on camera many times.

I don't rule out the possibility,
but if I could do it then I'd go and earn some millions and inform the world that its been proven possible just to blow their minds.:)

quite true

also

people have done it in a la

each time it is siad to be slight of habd

even when its not the traditinal "rising spoon" trick you see all over

i would gladly do it in a lab and give all the money away

that is if i got better at it

its an interesting practice. it truly is about bending yourself and bla bla bla

you have to be very unattentve.. if you are trying to pour energ into the metel it just wont work.

but when iot does go soft

like...for real soft...silly putty soft.. you know its real

its smthing thats not ment to be proven

its just out there

you can also bend them back and forth several times and weaken the
metal almost to the point of breaking, then just rubbing the spoon
will allow it to bend, just the small amount for heat from
friction can do it

Ok to clarify, this was a burly fork. She did not just bend it in half, the prongs were bent and twisted (i dont think it would be very easy to twist the prongs of a fork, even if you were a construction worker.) I was amazed at how mangled it was - she said it did not become like silly putty, but some peoples did.

However, i talked to 2 fellow canadians (who were at the lecture) about it last nite and apperently the guy doing it continuously tried to walk through walls in the 70´s and has a bit of a sketchy reputation - and how they described the scene of people trying to bend spoons - left much uncertainty.

They were saying 1 person would get a little bit and then the next person would be like "well if she bent hers, im gonna try harder" - apply physical force.

there was 1 fat girl running around just brute forcing forks to bend.

(also, all these utensils were brought by the participants.) - i believe in it - i think?

then the spoon would....break

from metal fatigue

at leased if you fucked up that "uri geller" method

the problem with uri was he was in it for the money

so any real abilities he had where overshadowed by hes huge ego
and fake tricks

thpo he did do some mind blowing unexplainable tricks

anyhooo

the sppon i bent...yes thats right 1 spoon. fork actualy

went to near liquid in my hands. no rubbing no nothing. it just gave way and my hand fell into it....so to speak

so i dunno

this is truly just a matter of doing it
if you cant, or wont do it. then of course every sane person would be skeptical

no... I've worked metal, you can stress it a great deal before it
breaks, when you're at the point that it's near breaking you can
heat it and bend it more without fear of it breaking

LOL  are you fucking kidding?  Thats not even a good one.  The spoon is obviously bent in the very beginning and you can see him just rotate it over by moving his thumb up.

Then why is his thumb moving up?  And why does the spoon have a dark shadow in the middle right where the bend already is?

You can see how he purposefully puts the spoon on camera straight on; in an attempt to hide that it is already bent.

lmao...the spoon was bent first...his hand that is holding the spoon wavers just a bit too much to be holding that spoon so tight his ever expanding mind can bend that spoon...i didn't even have to watch it twice...

i do the same trick by making the spoon look like it i'm bending it at a dinner table...it is all about angles...

real good presentation though...good job...

Wow, whats next?  Ripping a phone book in half maybe?

Dont need to.  I have spoons that could be bent like that and some that couldnt.  Obviously Im not gonna set up a camera to prove something to a stranger on the internet... so its stupid to even expect that.

Besides there are videos and pictures of bending spoons all over the net, why do you need one from me?  YOUR the one who showed me the video!  So your request doesnt even really make sense...  Of course people can bend spoons with their hands... YOU showed me a women bending a spoon with her hands!

(I didnt even know bending a spoon with your hands was considered special until this interchange...  )

I don't get whats so cool about it, it's one of those things.............

quite true

also

people have done it in a la

each time it is siad to be slight of habd

even when its not the traditinal "rising spoon" trick you see all over

i would gladly do it in a lab and give all the money away

that is if i got better at it

its an interesting practice. it truly is about bending yourself and bla bla bla

you have to be very unattentve.. if you are trying to pour energ into the metel it just wont work.

but when iot does go soft

like...for real soft...silly putty soft.. you know its real

its smthing thats not ment to be proven

its just out there

just like for an very easy example..... just because you think it's ridiculous to try and balance a chair with a person sitting on it, on your chin, doesn't mean someone else can't do it. None the less it is done.  It's neat when your kid but when you get older you realize there are many, many talents other people have that you could never possibly have some yes but most no, and such is life, don't try to understand it that is what takes away from life juts leave it as it is a wonder and there are many.

that doesn't apply at all to what I'm talking about. If people like me were in charge other people would still do the same thing over again, they always will.

Spoon bending is completely fake.  Penn and Teller talk about Mckenna specifically in the E.S.P. episode from their "Bullshit" series.  Here's the episode from youtube for those interested.  Bullshit is a great series, I'd recommend everyone watch it.

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3
