help with id

found in north carolina in lawn

gills are chocolate color. with it looks like litttle white spots on the gills. the gills are close together

the caps measure from 1 1/2 to 2 inches and the stem are 2 1/2 inches long

the stem looks like it would have been white if dirt was not on there. the stem is hollow and brittle.

the cap range from brown to olive. with a small darker area in the center. the caps are a 1/2 inche tall.

spore pirnt in black

did not burise

and smells like a mushroom

Hey man I'm pretty sure you have Pan Subbs! A black spore print sounds right. They have hollow, brittle stems, and your gill description sounds right. Be 100% sure before eating though. Good luck.

Many mushrooms can fit that description, they might be not Pan Subbs. Read the first thread on this forum to learn how to give an accurate description.
Pans Subbs usually have a lighter ring on the outside portion of the cap, does this hapen ?
