Invitro bags. Sub depth?
    #8668917 - 07/22/08 07:10 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

I normaly don't do bags but I just wanted to try something different to break the monotony.

For those that use invitro bags, what depth are you guys making your bags?

The last time I tried a bag I had about a 5-6" depth and that bag took FOREVER to colonize so this time I wanted to try diff depths so I made some 2.5 and some 3.5.

I did 47 of them so if they come out small hopefully what I lack in weight per shroom I'll make up in quantity

mine all seem to be about 4-5 inches. Make SURE it's loose and airy, and not packed in, that will speed up colonization.

I actually weigh out 4.5-5 lbs per bag... I guess its like 4-5-6"

Compacted from PC until top colonizes then crumbled and mixed... And I usually re-compact mine, I seem to have better results that way myself...
