My friend called me at work today and texted me pictures of what looked like woodloving psilocybes from Malibu.
He brought them to my house and I now have 3 cups full of subaeruginasces bigger than Ive ever seen before. Mind blowing.
Ill post pictures in a bit and Ill post habitat pictures tomorrow when I go and check out the patch

In Malibu, eh?? Nice!!
Can't wait to see the photos. Make sure to keep the mycelium of this patch separate.

WAIT WHY?>>>
I already threw the myc in my other tub with the previous subaeruginascens.
But I DO have 4 separate cardboard spawns I just made. and lots of prints.
They are definitely the same thing.

I think it is a good idea to keep distinct strains separate, just for comparing fruiting bodies to see variation within species as well as variation in basidiomes of a single organism.

CC, Have you or anyone else in the bay area been seeing these? Theyre now in two confirmed spots in my area and we believe there to be many more...

Also note,
I took a small handful of these on friday (0.8-1.2 grams) and enjoyed myself very much! felt like twice that weight in cubes.

Truthfully, I haven't been looking. Like, in Fall the cyans and friscosas are all over the place, and because these Spring Psilocybe still require moisture to fruit, they are more scarce and only really found around sprinklers. So i haven't been actively seeking out new patches.
I did check on one patch the other day, and found a lot of old rotten ones, but nothing to recent.

When i pick weilii i always leave sum to drop spores and keep the myc nice and healthy, i think it works cuz the patches i have done this to are always healthier than the ones that i dont do this with.

Awesome finds, subbed.
How are these spots getting water? The chips here are bone dry.
