First grow, casings with pins!!

Alright, Ive been a long time lurker around here, busily reading away. And finally I am seeing the fruits of my labor (ugh...)
Just a quick catch-up for anyone interested: I am using white popping corn as the substrate for Creepers gotten from an online vendor. I made a few mistakes while preparing my grain, which made for a couple set-backs. Mostly a moisture problem that was just handled with patience. 2 out of my 3 quart jars colonized fully and went into coir/verm 2:1 casings. Then into my FC... Im using the poor mans pod and Im a little worried about my constant 99% humidity levels... and even more worried about figuring out how to reduce them if need be.
This is day 2 of pins: What do you guys think? Worry about reducing humidity or can these ride out?

No need to reduce your humidity. While cakes need a constant 99% to fruit successfully, and many posts say that casings should be kept ~85%, your casings will do just fine in a high RH environment. The humidity in which casings can be fruited can drop as low as ~85% but there is no need to intentionally drop the RH for casings. The higher the better.

Nice pins. Congratulations.
What the heck are you using instead of perlite? Looks like petrified wood...

I'm using lava rock on the bottom of my FC... Was going to use geolite but the hydro store was closed, so home depot had me covered.
This has been a major learning experience... Grow number 2 is going to be very fun!

That is some unique looking lava rock.
Home depot didn't have perlite?

Thanks! I'm very pleased so far.
I was planning on harvesting just as the viels start tearing... I don't mind an uneven flush... Just wanna avoid letting them dump spores all over eacother.
Hey Chiz! =D Thanks, and I'll be sure to update when my friend with the cannon rebel gets outa work

lookin great!
it all depends, if your after quality, tear em down now....or if its weight, you can wait! hah sounds funny..
but has the caps flaten out, spores will dump all over the casing layer, and terrarium.
and plus it also depends if you want to get some prints. I'd wait a little longer for that...
otherswise, enjoy those fruits!
