If you wrote book titled: "Mein Kampf" IDK?
--------------------
"We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones. Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born. The potential people who could have been here in my place but who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Arabia. Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton. We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA so massively exceeds the set of actual people. In the teeth of these stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here." - Richard Dawkins

^ good answer
everyone seems to express some sort of superiority complex (including myself), and the degree of superiority seems to be dependent on the type of one's personality construct.
my question is, assuming mostly everybody projects some degree of superiority on these forums, how does one recognize this way of acting towards others?

I'm not sure you can. There are portions of our personality that we cannot see, re: the johari window. I suppose the best we can do is to be as humble and understanding as we know how, IF this is even a concern for a person. It isn't the norm, ime. I suppose in my life I have been less concerned with how others view me as I have been concerned with being correct.
This is an interesting forum. I've read a lot of older threads and posts trying to get a handle on it. Some of what I see, especially lately, is pretty cool, some, sadly, isn't. Older threads contain a lot of behavior that isn't tolerated these days other than jumping on someone if they dared to believe in something other than the material world.

Oh, and for the record, you don't come off as superior, imo.

I think everyone has every complex. ADHD, OCD, Schizo, Neurotic behavior, etc...
It's all just a matter of degree. Most people fall in some part of the middle, with some on either extreme. We call the middle the norm, but that doesn't make it any less of a part of the psyche, just that we don't consider people from the norm fucked up is all.
-------------------- My advice is to find those things that give pleasure and do them often without too much attachment and relax and wait for the show to end. -Icelander- I like free markets and all. Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems. Why not honor what made us what we are and take some lessons? Nature FTW! ~dill705~

IMO
Superiority complex is not so straight forward, it is not necessarily about thinking oneself better, but expecting better from oneself, and setting very high standards for oneself.
It is possible to have both superiority complex AND inferiority complex existing within the same person.
It is often a compensation tool.
It seems that one with superiority complex would naturally be an extroverted character, but this is not always the case also. As feelings of confidence are not necessarily involved.
People with superiority complex can be withdrawn, reserved people, that avoid confrontation and possible revelation of ability to fail.
I would suggest, to expose this trait... you examine how you perceive others, and what you expect from yourself in relation to others.

if you thought you were god every time you hit ego death would that be a superiority complex?
-------------------- The Voice: It is the Broodwich, forged in darkness from wheat harvested in Hell's half-acre, baked by Beelzebub, slathered with mayonnaise beaten from the evil eggs of dark chicken forced into sauce by the hands of a one-eyed madman, cheese boiled from the rancid teat of a fanged cow, layered with six-hundred and sixty-six separate meats from an animal which has maggots for blood! I don't engage in situations that allow people to feel they can exert any degree of control or power over me or my outlook. This helps me feel free
