i dunno about weilii but it would be a good place for subs, and maybe even a cube if your lucky in the summer time, that is if they use manure as fertalizer.

I thought of that about 2 years ago, and never looked into it.
oh and I find people picking in my weilii spots, and I either just say whats up to them or I wait for them to leave if they look like assholes.

yea
i was kind of kidding.
If i so much as heard another person at my spot I'd probably get the hell out of there in case it was the rancher or cops searching the field.
trespassing charges = not fun

i think the soil is too sandy and not enough red clay and acidity to grow on its own down there, plus weilii also like a little cooler temps as well. but i think in the winter you could possibly make an artificial bed if you got the right substrate. I dug up a pin cluster with a huge chunk of mycelium with it and i got a bunch of substrate from another patch im going to sterilize and introduce to the mycelium i have, i really dont see why it wouldnt grow under the right temps. I did something similar last year and it grew but i only got one flush and couldnt get it to fruit again. ill keep you updated. I should have those pics posted tonight sometime of the ice caps i found.

I think the clay used on the roads may be imported. But florida does have white clay, but it's several feet below a surface of sand. I'm not sure if that holds true for everywhere in florida but it does in my area.

Me too but i was working in my garden today and i noticed most of the soil had frozen solid about a 1/2inch down, frozen solid
thats not good for the myc but oh well next season will come quick, i really think some of the experienced hunters need to get together over the winter months and chill, talk, exchange strategies.
