I found 4 yesterday. I think that even if more do grow this season, I am just going to leave them alone and do their thing. on another note, anyone in here ever make an LC out of wild weilii stem innards? Just would like to know the outcome.

I want to know how the bug who eat these are affected. You know? I always find bite marks on the caps and little centipede-like things in the hollow of the stems. What are they thinking?

I've grown on agar from the gills, mycelium quickly colonized, it was just a pain to isolate the good from the bad, it grows so quickly. Interesting thing about weilii mycelium though, it colonizes like a wildfire, but to pin takes forever, at least indoors.

I would be interested in seeing pictures of the process and results.

you think they would even grow well here?
it would be great to have some wood-lovers in florida, I wouldn't have to keep jumping those damn fences.

The mycelium takes forever outdoor as well. I though all of my efforts this past year or two were in vain, but I checked a couple of the spots in my yard, and BAM!! mycelium. I dont know if it is weilii, but I would guess it is. I will see next season......
