I thought so:cool:your patch looks identical to my woodland patch.

Then you know woodland is the way to go.

I wish I had some weilii spores. I think weilii could be encouraged to be more widely distributed easily.

Stick to border town, where grass meets the woods, tall patches of grass, rotting wood ships, pinestraw, red clay, cut out in the woods, like a trail you know, but it also needs to be in a area that has a certain level of human or natural disturbance, such as a rain fall or where tractors have churned the ground.

You and I have the same strategy, its not hard to find areas like this they are everywhere and there are not as many people around.

InTheRainySeason, second that emotion, on more widley distributed, easily? i don't know mother nature is mystical, i would have thought weilii already would be more distributed after 13 years, at least they are still in the metro area, I'd hate to see them extinct or distinguished.  Sometimes i wonder what kind of mycological wars are taking place under my feet when i go on forays, also symbiance relationships , might there be companion planting for weilli, freinds of weilli fungi or competitors of nutrients, substrate, and space??????????? just ramblin on, my mynde seems to wander like that.

I don't think Weilii's will ever become extinct due to man. There's probably hundreds of huge Weilii patches out there that are not even discovered yet, that I am sure of. Now, the possibility of competing fungi running out the Weilii is plausible, but I think this would take centuries.

Anyhow here are some pics from most recent haul, deep deep in the forest.

Even saw some velutina's first ones i've seen since spring.

They are busting guys, just gotta get out there and search hard.

Whats up everyone, this is my first post found these today in my friends back yard. I need help with identification. They were growing in red clay around some fescue grass. Spore print is a purplish brown. I'm hoping they're Weilii! Here's some pics:
