Good RH and Temp for Treasure Coast?
    #8651263 - 07/18/08 02:00 PM (15 years, 7 months ago)

Just wanted to get advice from other people who have grown TC strain.  What is the best RH and temp for the terrarium that you have found for good fruiting?  Mine is showing above 95% humidity and 80 degrees.  sound good?  i should mention i'm trying to get them to pin, so i have them in a cooler area of my house.  i plan on moving them upstairs to get the temperature up to 86 or so once they start growing.

86 is too high. You'll encourage contamination and get stalled growth.

Keep the RH as high as you possibly can, approaching ~99% is good.

Good luck!

i think i actually might be close to 99% RH, i left a hygrometer inside the grow chamber and six hours later it had shut itself off (i assume from too much humidity).  So what is the best temperature to shoot for?  like high 70s to low 80s?

Temp to incubate needs to be room temp will work, but no higher than 80 degrees it promotes contaminates.

When fruiting begins you need to drop the temp to a lower temp. I prefer using 72-76, but thats my opinion. Will it work higher? Yes, but the growth will probably be slow like was said above.

The humidity needs to be as high as you can get it.

alright i set the grow chamber next to an air conditioner (wall-unit) so hopefully that drops the temps a little.

80F is fine for fruiting.  There is no need to drop temperature.  70's is also fine, but there's no reason to stress about getting it there.  The number one pinning trigger is lots of fresh air exchange.

Toss out that digital hygrometer and get a good mechanical one and properly calibrate it.  Keep it near 99%, provide fluorescent light for around 12 hours per day, and lots of fresh air.  You'll see fruits soon if you followed other steps such as dunk and roll, and keep things well misted.
