If sterlized and using the same species, can your inocculation syringes be used more than once ?

of course, just fill 'em up with boilin' water, let it sit for a minute, purge out the water, repeat two or three times - the last time leaving the water in the syringe and let it cool. now ya got a sterile syringe with sterile water in it. you can even mix your sterile water with a different strain and suck it back up

Ok, lets suppose I had a spore print of a B+ strain and the cap measured 4x4 inches, how much of the spores do I put in per 10cc's ? Is there a formula/equation for this ?

That's a lot of spores for 10 cc do you feel that it speeds up colonization?

more spores spread around your substrate = quicker colonization
but of course, fewer spores will work (possibly just as well), so like i said before ~ it's all personal preference

I have a question as far as syringe preparation and sterilization. What's the proper process and precautions to take? I have an empty syringe that's a bit dirtied, by vermiculite....wondering how I should clean it. Also, how long and in what conditions does a spore syringe last? Thanks for any help....

if you can see spores in a syringe then you have enough.
just clean the syringe in hot water. i microwave mine in a tall pint glass with a plate on top to stop them floating about. i suck up and purge boiling water several times. then i put them back in the microwave for 20mins

You should clean your used syringes properly. Simply sucking up some boiling water is not good enough. See the rubber end on the plunger? There is a grove in that rubber which is almost surely filled with old spores. There is alos likely a ring of old spores stuck in the bottom of the barrel.
Take the syringe apart and soak in warm soapy water for a while. Now wipe that rubber ring with some tissue. Take a small square of tissue about the szie of a quarter and push it down into the barrel with the plunger. Twist the lunger around a couple times so the inside bottom of the barrel gets cleaned by the tissue. Now pressure cook the parts for just a short time and with very clean or gloved hands, put back together. I suggest you do this cleaning process immediately before using the syringes.

I PC all of my syringes before reuse. I don't suffer from contamination problems in syringes I make. The only problems I've ever had were with vendor made syringes.

Just wrap them in aluminumfoil and pressure cook for 25 minutes. Works for most types and brands. Just sucking up hot water will not sterilise a syringe.
