Hpoo smell

So Ive read that dried horse manure doesnt smell bad...just like dirt more or less. That sounds good but my problem is that Ive had anosmia since birth, meaning a complete lack of my sense of smell. I want to do a stealth grow but am a little bit paranoid about any sort of smell giving me away. Its bad enough to have to worry about how I smell without having to worry that some pungent odor is giving away the fact that Im growing drugs in my closet. So my questions are:
1) if I were to go and pick up some really thoroughly dry horse manure nuggets and smash them up and put them in a fruiting chamber in my closet could I rest easy knowing that there isnt a curious smell emanating from my closet?
2) would it be a safer bet to go with some premade substrate from a vendor like so: ?
3) would it be a good idea to install some sort of freshener or something to mask any smell?
Keep in mind that youre speaking to someone who has never smelled and doesnt really have a complete grasp on what smelling actually is.

If its that much of an issue I'd just advise you to buy coir. It's cheap, it has no distinct smell, it works.
Hpoo only smells when it's fresh, improperly leeched, or green. When it's as dry as grass and/or shreds down to to a fibrous dust-like consistency it will smell like dirt, faintly. That's what it would smell like to someone who might be in your house when you pasteurize.

I would definitely install some sort of deodorizer that sprays at a certain time interval. Also if you have anyone you can trust you can use them as your secondary nose.

Worry about the smell from growing weed, not mushrooms. I have 50lbs of dry, leeched horse shit sitting in my bedroom closet and I don't smell a thing unless my nose is right up to the sack it's in. Don't stress about this.

I get fresh hpoo all the time. I take about 10lbs of it only a few days old soak it with a hose and leach it about 10 times over spread it out and in a few days you'll have what looks like shredded straw with an earthy smell.

To preface my response i had a coworker that used to tell me he couldn't smell. I thought he was bullshitting me. I always tried catching him smelling something, watching his reactions to nasty things we were doing (we worked at a funeral home). but i never caught him. Interesting. i will investigate this condition more.
1) if I were to go and pick up some really thoroughly dry horse manure nuggets and smash them up and put them in a fruiting chamber in my closet could I rest easy knowing that there isnt a curious smell emanating from my closet? It wouldn't smell at all until you pasteurized it. I am not sensitive to smells so i would do mine in the kitchen like the pic below and it would stink up the place fairly bad for a few hours.
2) would it be a safer bet to go with some premade substrate from a vendor like so: ? coir as suggested. you can get it from hydroponic stores or pet stores as reptile bedding.
3) would it be a good idea to install some sort of freshener or something to mask any smell? That's never a bad idea, but it wouldn't likely cover up the smell of pasteurizing poo in the open, imo.
If you are really worried about the smell i would recommend using coco coir instead.

I never did like chilli
As far as not believing people it just reminded me of when I had a job working over night and people would come in and say "Is it really that bright in here" and all kinds of other stupid shit(Almost NONE of it ever original or creative) Due to my extreme photophobia(Yes I have medical documentation saying that more or less I need to wear my prescription glasses or it would be discriminatory and they are more or less a special tint of sunglasses, but sunglasses nonetheless causing people to call me "Hollywood" and all manner of other stupid things due to it ,I used to always reply to "Is it really bright in here" with "I don't know, you tell me,I'm nearly blind and extremely photophobic",(I'm not blind, just cant be around light)and than you could tell that they always felt stupid ..feeling like they made fun of a handicapped person or something..Ahh,the good old days

Just be careful growing weed. Now, drying the horseshit in my experience is fucking messy. But in terms of stinky no worries. When you squeeze the horseshit after pasturization sp dont care drunk, it should just get mayhap one drop of water. I spread it out on a big foldout table with fans on it (inline duct fans, the quiet ones are good) I make sure it's not piled too high and I turn it over periodically. It should turn out light and fluffy.
Sorry about lnog post about horse shit moisture content.
Drunk and dont care.
