87% of statistics are made up on the spot, anyway most buyers/sellers dont have to deal with conflict resolution if you read through some old threads you see several of our vendors had their account locked by paypal without any sort of conflict or issues with buyers, the money in the accounts was seized by paypal... seems honest enough for me

now that the auctionhouse owns the bank, there's a bigger conflict of interest

the list continues for miles, all it take is for someone to say "he didnt ship" or for a seller to ship an empty box for paypal to step in and lock the accounts in question and in 6 months you may have a resolution... been there, fuck paypal

I think most problems are the fault of the seller not Paypal. If a seller sends an empty box their account should be locked and investigated. Why would someone say their product wasn't shipped unless it wasn't? 6 months does seem a little long. My problem was completely resolved in 2.5 wks., with hardly any work on my part.

same reason someone would ship an empty box with a tracking number, or ship a brick... money, it's scamming nothing more it can work from either end and occasionally works from both
even their dispute resolution is a scam, dont trust Square Trade http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3078461/

Holy FUCK!!
1) If the seller is honest and ships the proper item that was paid for by the buyer, everything works PERFECTLY.
2) If the seller is a scam artist, PayPal investigates and finds in favor of the buyer.
3) If the buyer doesn't pay, the seller doesn't ship.
I've been using PayPal for 8 years, mainly for eBaY purchases and sales, and have had all of a whole TWO claims filed against sellers!
Both were found in my favor in less than 3 weeks and I recovered my money.
PayPal is pretty much flawless as far as I'm concerned.
As for selling intangible goods, the seller should be aware that "intangible" means "NO PROOF OF VALUE"! Therfore PayPal cannot determine fault and the seller LOSES!
It's all plain and simple. If you cheat, you lose, if you're honest, you have no problem.
The complaints and gripes are all from dishonest fuckers who try to cheat people and the people whe get cheated.
I'm done with this thread.

So because Paypal has no way of assessing the value of property that was sold to a buyer who maliciously exploited the system, it is the sellers fault, because the item is intangible.
This makes absolutely no sense.

Okay, definitely my last post in this thread...
YES!! It makes PERFECT sense! If a seller wants to take a CHANCE and sell an INTANGIBLE item on eBay, he should know that there's a risk of getting it sold to a CHEATING BUYER!
