Very pretty GGreatOne. OK I have run into a bit of a snag....or so I think. The pins that started forming 3 or 4 days ago, really haven't grown at all since, and I have very few pins compared to what I hear is typical of this species. Anyone have any advice or experience with this kind of a situation???

Hey GGreat, what state or country are those fruiting in?
Shaman, something's definitely wrong... if they were pinning 3-4 days ago, they should be done by now provided they're in optimal conditions. You may have contamination, but you should just wait and see. Next time, be very careful and always water with h2o2 solution. The mycelium contaminates very easily if you don't isolate a vigorous strain.

Hey All,

Shaman1- I had a situation just like that with cubs last spring. I searched and searched without a hint as to what happened. I had grown them from a spore sample I had taken myself and which still contained some moisture when I put it away in the fridge. According to Steven L Peele of the Florida Mycology Research Center, these spores were likely to have germinated and then... well starved for a few months. The end result was a stunted crop. I suppose if a spore syringe sat around long enough it to might germinate and go hungry for too long. Anyway that's what I've come up with.

Thanks for your help, but I used the syringe the day that I got it so I doubt the germinated spores starved. I just don't know what the deal is.
