www.politicalcompass.org I found this on Bluelight, thought it would be interesting to see what you guys thought of this. Their basic premise is that the old politcal view of left to right is outdated, and their needs to be separate divisions based on economic views(left/right) and social views(authoritarian/libertarian). There is also a test to determine where you stand on this "compass". My score placed me as a leftist libertarian. Personally, I think this test is somewhat biased, and poorly written. I've always seen myself as economically on the right, but this test insists (on three trials) that I am on the left. The questions seem worded poorly and vaguely. The vast majority of bluelighters scored similarly to myself. Something doesn't seem right. Any opinions?

I didn't want to finish the test. There were a lot of questions I couldn't answer because of the choices. As you stated, "...this test is somewhat biased, and poorly written... The questions seem worded poorly and vaguely."

economic left/right: + 5.50
authoritarian/libertarian: - 3.08
This makes me a rightist Libertarian (no surprise) but I am surprised to see such a low number on the authoritarian/libertarian side, as I have always believed the government has NO BUSINESS WHATSOEVER in any non-criminal aspect of the private lives of individuals. The only conclusion I can draw is that either the questions are rigged or the numerical weights assigned to the answers are off.
