Ps. cyanescens is a woodlover but if you think you can just stick some spores on a piece of wood, you'll be dissapointed. ------------------ Visit the Spore Lab at: http://www.sunshine.net/www/1700/sn1730 It's a trip you'll never forget!

I'm not to sure if this pict will help but the wood is soft and things are growing off it. What i wanted to do is make some sort of substrate out of it for an outdoor experement.

This wood is allready colonised by various funghi. If you can manage to sterilize it you could use it for a secodary decomposer like the Button Mushroom. But it?s certainly not worth the effort.[This message has been edited by Anno (edited June 16, 2000).]

No, these are not any of the Agaricus species(as the "classic" Button Mushroom, Agaricus Bisporus, is.). From this picture, I can?t tell which species exactly it is.

There are thousands of species of mushrooms, we would need detailed descriptions of various mushroom parts to make a proper ananylis. The colour of a spore print would sure help narrow it down!------------------ Visit the Spore Lab at: http://sporelab.webjump.com It's a trip you'll never forget!

It was a good place for that particular specie to grow. Most mushrooms are very particular about their growing parameters. Most DON'T grow on wood. Cubensis for instance, are not a specie one would find growing on a stick.------------------ Visit the Spore Lab at: http://sporelab.webjump.com It's a trip you'll never forget!
