Closet Grow and a Single LED?

Ill be starting my closet grow soon, and have a question about lighting. I searched but everything was too general. I needed a more specific answer.
1. Will a single blue LED light be enough light? 2. Should I hang it from above the FC like in the picture or tape it to the inside lid on the FC?
I'm pretty sure it will do.

That certainly is not ideal.

Some of my best pinsets ever occurred doing the monotub tek with 5 tubs one on top of another in a dark closet. I took the tubs out and fanned them once daily, that was the majority of the light they got. So, give it a try, see what happens!

mushrooms dont "need" lots of light to fruit. if you can seem them they are getting enough light to initiate fruiting. (although thats not the ideal light setup for maximum results)
i would put it in your box at least.

Well, its either that light or the main closet light.
Which would be better?

or dont go buy those and use a window but the led thing would be a great expirement seeing how that one light is like 2 watts at most...id put it in the out side of the fc and maybe try to get a couple more and some resistors to wire them up, save you lots o money down the road if your wanting to go with artificial light

I read a scientific paper somewhere which said they only need a few seconds of light per day to grow normally. Remember they only need the light to know which way is up. In vitro (without any light) produces perfectly good specimens, they just grow all higgldy piggldy. It would be a good experiment to put this to the test. Do you have the balls to risk your first grow in the name of science??

Agreed. I'm sporting two in my terrarium just to be EXTRA sure light gets to all available points of my myc.
There's really no such thing as too much light...

Haha, I might.
Has anyone ever tried growing under total light? What do you think would happen?

actually, mushrooms are SIMPLE to grow. Even for a noob, once you get a working routine that's right for your needs. You get to where you don't even think about what you're doing until you're going outside of your routine and experimenting with something.

I have, i made a small fc and set it under a 6500K light 24/7 fanned and misted 3 times a day, turned out perfectly fine

Just because someone did it with success, doesn't make it ideal.

just because it's not ideal doesn't mean it's not going to work. When it does.
in regards to lighting for mushrooms, any light will do. of course, a cooler light is better, in regards to spectrum, which, this led is obviously on the cool spectrum, as far as intensity, it's not important, he isn't growing pot.
