more linux install issues

i installed linux MCE  ran very slow and choppy  basically in operable.  now i have tried kubuntu mint and ubuntu. but all do not work.  code comes up  that says this:

PCI: Cannot allocate resources region 1 of device 0000:00:14.0

whats does this mean??

oh and the MCE (that worked a little) is 64 bit the others are all 32 bit.....  hmm

Try hpet=disable in the boot parameters. It looks like a kernel bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-source-2.6.22/+bug/138305
