Officer smells meth on defendant during trial, leads to meth lab bust
July 10, 2008 - Walker County Messenger
A Walker County man on trial for DUI drug charges was arrested after an officer smelled meth on his clothing.
According to Walker County Sheriff’s Department reports:
Officer Dewayne Llewellyn said he was at a bench trial in Walker State Court for 42-year-old Michael Allen Atkins on June 26 when he smelled methamphetamine on Atkins.
After the trial, Llewellyn drove Atkins to his residence on Chattanooga Valley Road in Flintstone. At the residence Llewellyn found other people who were on probation for distribution of meth and smelled meth being made.
Llewellyn secured the area for a search warrant. He found blue liquid ephedrine, meth-stained coffee filters and glass pipes that tested positive for meth, and other meth-making products.
Atkins and 46-year-old James Johnson, who lived at the residence, were arrested.

More likely, the cop suspected the guy was cooking meth, pulled a SouthPark "It's coming right at us!" using the "I smell drugs" excuse to get probable cause for the search.

The officer didn't go out of his way because he had a hunch on a dui suspect. Labs fucking wreak like no other and that smell was obviously on him. And when you go to court for a dui you get your liscensed suspended, so obviously he needs someone to drive him.

That is not true at all, there are many smart, cool people who have used meth.
Famous methamphetamine users include Judy Garland, Lenny Bruce and Philip K. Dick.
The problem is with some of the users, not the drug itself.
My good friend was prescribed pure methamphetamine pills (desoxyn) all throughout school and he never had troubles with it.

I have known good people wrapped up in that shit. They don't always stay chill good hearted people though. My best friend has had bouts with just about everything. During the start of his last episode with meth, he was living in an extended stay motel for a period. During that time he was still smoking it. This was before he got a taste for rigs. Anyways, he smoked so much that he set the smoke alarm off in his room. I would imagine that if you knew what it smelled like you would have noticed it on his person. I've had a roommate who smoked so much it practically hot boxed the outside hallway. I'm just saying its possible to smell it on a person.

I didn't see that this was Georgia at first. Funny... Atlanta has, or at least had, some really pure shit. Then north GA has lots of crank, so there's no shortage for sure. I'm not going to demonize everyone who has ever touched the stuff, but I used to get sick of all the God damn tweakers. I always liked the name shardtards. Its not like there's a lot else to do there though... Its kind of funny that its the one thing I know that is common in the gay community (Midtown ATL is the San Fran of the southeast), rednecks, and white suburban "thugs". <- the other thing that I don't miss from the area. I knew this girl who was bad off on it named Tina. This is also the gay community's name for meth. What's in a name? I thought it was kind of fitting..

Meth is usually bad but I think its ok if it is used once a month or less.
