Cool it down

I was just wondering if it is safe to put the jars in the fridge or freezer after PC'ing them or is it better to let them sit out over night at room temp? Will the jars be more/less succeptable to contams in the fridge or freezer?

I regularly cool off my jars in the fridge. You'll likely get a ton of responses where people proclaim the fridge has more contams than anywhere else in the house, but I have never suffered from contamination at that stage. If you're impatient and you feel that your jars are robust enough not to crack, try it.

I had 3 jars explode like this, i mean explode! You can do it if you just cant wait 6 hours to innoculate. Dont put them right from the PC to the freezer though, actually avoid the freezer all together!

Being that impatient isnt a good start to a hobby that requires ALOT of pacience(sp)...

Agree...I use the fridge all the time, I do not go right from the pot to the fridge however that is inviting a possible crack in the jar IMHO. I let them settle at room temp for 10 min or so first..

It is still hot inside the jar even though the outside might feel cool. Something to be cautious of also.

I used to put them in front of my ac/fan, i would have the fan blow on them for like 15min, then switch to ac... in bout 45min they were nice and cool.

And you never got any contams putting it right in front of a fan or a/c? I would figure that doing that would blast all sorts of crazy shit into the jars.
