I used cloves to store mycelium outside the refridgerator. If u soak the cloves and place chunks of colonized material there is a good chance that it will survive for u as it did for me (more than three months). I dropped the container band everything sloshed out but the possibility is open for experiments.

Fresh garlic and hops are also potent natural anitboitics. You can grow some Beer Brat cubies. Mmmmm...
