new grower, should be an easy question

ok i bought this kit online like, wow, 2, 3 years ago now from mycomonsters (i think it was ebay) and then I purchased spores from some other company which came in syringes. the spores somehow have little things floating in them, one of them (at least) has sort of a big chunk of something maybe a millimeter big (im just saying that incase that screws up my operation right there). anyway i was wondering like how safe this is to do...like i know the risks with eating psychadelic mushrooms but eating ones i grew myself bothers me a little. what are the risks? anymore than buying them from someone who has some that probably came from someone who knew what they were doing? maybe im just being paranoid but i dont know, im a little "off" on the fact of eating shrooms that i grew myself (never grown them before obviously), from spores that I got from some company online. what are your opinions? thanks a lot guys for taking the time to read.

You'd rather eat them from someone who got them from someone who got them from someone who grew them from some spores they found outside in a mexican jungle?
Or, more likely, got some button mushrooms with a drop of acid on them?

Kits = NO (You can make it work, it's just a rip off)
"little things floating in them" = spores
"sort of a big chunk of something" = clump of spores
Syringes will last a good amount of time in a room temperature drawer in your home. Long enough for you to try to find out what it is that you are trying to do.
You must read in order to learn about what it is you are trying to do, or else you will fail! Which would suck because you would be missing out on a cool hobby.
Read what everyone's talking about on the posts.

Good luck.

I am one of the few proud who can say he has only eaten mushrooms he grew and has not even seen a wild active or a mushroom grown by any other man's hands. I have tripped between ten and twenty times the last year and have fun when I do. It's a great experience. Don't be scared. I store my syringes in the fridge. My last spore syringes in room temp turned into bacteriated nastiness.

If you store your syringe in the fridge, you might induce hibernation in the spores. This will significantly delay colonization. The spore syringe should be placed in a zip-lock as well.

first off thanks so much guys for all of the replies. and naww its not even so much that the spores sat around (in room temp. btw) its just the idea of growing shrooms myself, i dont know. im just being paranoid i guess? the directions seem easy enough, besides trying to keep everything completely germ free (my house isnt the most cleanest place on earth [dust-wise], dust seems to be everywhere) it came with a movie and a text pad of instructions also. ok so as long as these arent like deadly spores or something haha, theres nothing i can mess up to where the shrooms will hurt me? like say i mess them up..will the shrooms just not grow? cuz thats not as big of a deal. but if the shrooms do grow does that mean all went well and im fine? basically im just worried of being the "test dummy" from the shrooms i grow. nothin can go wrong really i take it though? if they grew, i'm good? how long does it take btw if i remember/read right, its around 2 months? because weather worries me a little because i know its suppose to be warm for these to grow (i planned to keep them outside in the shed to avoid air conditioning, fan, etc.). i live in new jersey and its july8th so...i figure i have about 2 months now? probably little longer that im safe to grow these? again thank you so much guys.

oh man, you're proud for having never sought them out in their natural habitat? come on, you gotta give the mushrooms some credit, you can learn a lot about mushrooms seeing them in their habitat. i personally am proud that i have had an in depth look into the various aspects of the mushroom life cycle; proud to have eaten mushrooms grown by others, proud to have found more potent mushrooms growing naturally in the wild, and prouder still of having grown my own that are better than both others...

i thought it was best to store the syringes in the fridge? i got them in a ziplock bag though, but theyre sitting in a pretty cold fridge...what are the pros and cons of the fridge versus stored in a dresser drawer in your bedroom? thanks
