I ran into a Doctor who was an Oxford grad as well as a grad of Mayo Clinic. I asked him to look over some teks in growing P.C. and after some study he said use Rice Cakes, moistened with Ensure, and injected with tryptophan. Ensure is an adult nutrient suppliment. I don't know what exactly P.C. needs as far as nutrients are concerned so I am asking you. Is this really far off the wall, or is it worth the print to try? All comments welcome, even flames for my stupidity.

I just kind of tagged this thread on. Any hooo...in numerous post ever newb out there wants to know how to fortify their there subtrate with more "nurtrients" to optimize the growth potential of thier shrooms. blah blah blah. I have been searching post to determine what do mushrooms need to grow (nutrient-wise) the most to boost size or speed of growth? So before we start "to fortify" with god knows what! In the mushroom cultivator it list some nutrients vital to mushroom development, such as protein, fat, fiber, calcium, phsphourus, nitrogen and potassium. But no one seems to know to what level we need them in the subtrate I mean does protien effect the growth the most, and is there such a thing as to much? ect. I don't want to find some miracle addative, i just want to know how to pick out the best bird seed and grain. Example, one bird seed has a higher protien count then penningtons finch food, but it also has more fat %. Fat I hear could slow growth, when is there to much fat, fiber, ect.
Just wondering?

Use millet or rye. Make a good strong culture and spawn some poo/straw mixture.
