Outdoor cacti during winter?
    #858509 - 09/02/02 09:54 AM (14 years, 3 months ago)

Can San Pedro or peruvian torch be grown outside? I imagine they can during the warmer months, but would they survive, say, 20 degrees F during the winter?

I don't think so, but I can't find any information one way or the other.

Growing in the ground, in a dry climate, it could probably survive temperatures in the 20s. However, in a container, or if you get snow... they will die. Even in the ground though, this is a gamble. Avoid freezing temperatures if possible. They might make it, but... why risk it?

they grow wild in peru so they can take some cold temps but not for long times. 20 below for more than a week would kill them quick.
