Obama pumped out another excellent speech, this time about patriotism. It's very low on partisanship, and I think everybody can agree with what he is saying here.

Why is the Cain part of J-Mac's name capitalized in your sig?
Is it because he's so old he needs one? Really the only reason I can think of.
I can't wait to vote in my first presidential election for Obama. See sig, or watch hours of his speeches.
Then if your still undecided, watch hours of McCain speeches.
See who keeps you interested and feeling engaged in America.

Wow, can't wait to see what obama and McCains speech writers have come up with this time! They're so good at making politicians sound sincere, moving, and important.
-------------------- My favorites are weeping willows, which aren't really weeping at all. They're very wispy, witty and will dance in the breeze with you. Nothing like a tree that wants to dance with you. Although it doesn't like its thin limbs being pulled at all, it absolutely LOVES it when you walk through them, letting them gently slide over your face and shoulders. If you're naked, the willow considers it to be sex. It will orgasm on your mind and you will blow dream chunks into outer space. All very fun until your neighbor sees you. -The Joekenorer

If a man can't speak on his own, without pages of notes to keep him on mark, then he isn't worth a damn in the first place. ESPECIALLY for president. People so rarely mention the despicable act of reading someones else's words as their own.

Watch the speech and you can clearly see that he rarely, if ever, looks at any notes or papers.

Really? I haven't watched any of his speeches. Maybe thats why he's so popular, people feel like he really is speaking from his own mind.
Congrats to Obama on my behalf, then. I hope future prospects will see how well its done for him, and speech writers will faze out.

If you're of voting age, and even if you're not, I strongly suggest you get involved and start checking BOTH candidates out.
Then, realize Obama is better, smarter, and has better judgement, and vote Obama this November!

So, what problems do you find with this speech? Nominees should have dick measuring contest about which one loves America more? I think he's spot on in this speech.

I think it's great that you can tell how patriotic your presumed-president is, now that he wears his USA flag lapel pin. Want some freedom fries with that?
Because if the media has taught me anything, it's that real patriotism is small, meaningless symbolic gestures and phrases, while supporting a self-destructive policy, and promising that which is illegal for the government to provide.

This guy's observations save me some typing. http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives2/2008/06/020877.php
I really don't understand how Barry managed to get himself a reputation as some kind of a great orator. It baffles the hell out of me. I've seen videos and read transcripts of the speeches folks are swooning over, and they leave me scratching my head. Yes, there's the occasional deft turn of phrase but on the whole they are at best decent and at worst hilariously inept - especially when it comes to facts. This guy makes Dan Quayle look like a genius.
