WalMart Manure?

So I happened to be walking through the wal-mart gardening center and noticed a sign listing various soils and what have yous. I saw they have manure @ a buck a pound or so.. (not sure of the weight, but the price was a doller).
Anyone used wal-mart manure??
I mean, i dont mind going to a farm and getting it for free... but.. this is closer and less time/gas consuming. Whaddya guys think?

99% of the time, it is too composted and worthless. You'd need to add a crap ton of verm or straw to even stand a chance with it. Go get aged Horse manure from a local stable.

^I just finally realized the point of those birds under your sig. Trippy, I wish I were tripping shrooms or acid right now.
Where does one get manure from besides ordering it online? I don't really know any farmers to ask if I can scoop their poop.

Trust me, you don't need to know the farmers. Just knock on their door and ask them if you can have some for your garden. I haven't met a horse owner yet that refused someone taking horse shit off their hands.

Yep... I just emailed local stables, and got like 10 people who said: " COME TAKE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT!!!!!! "
They were thrilled to get rid of it.

I would also check craigslist. You can sometimes find ads in there with people giving their horse shit away.

FooMan, you are definitely right. This is my preferred method of finding people wanting to get rid of some shit. I was considering the wal-mart stuff simply out of convenience, but that would be HUGE mistake. After close inspection I noticed that their stuff would be horrible for growing shrooms. Eh, worth looking into tho...
Thanks people

There is no excuse to pay for shit when most people live at least 1-2 hours away from a stable.
Even if you have to drive 40 miles, you can literally bag 100+ pounds of horse manure in not very much time!

I don't get it. Three birds each going in a circle. It would be nice to look at it tripping, but am I missing something?
Definitely get the aged horse manure. The stuff you can buy at wal-mart or something like that, will be soupy when hydrated.
