Harvesting Nicotina Rustica seeds??

I have 3-5 Nicotina rustica plants in my garden. They are all flowering now. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on harvesting the seeds and when they will form. I have lots of bee's in the garden to pollinate them. I'm just afraid the seeds may fall to the ground before I'm able to harvest. I've done a search and could find no info on the subject of getting seeds.

Its pretty straightforward. You may lose a few seeds but you should get a lot of them so don't worry.

the pods will dry on the plant and turn brown. wear gloves and collect them all over a plate or something. dry them any further that they may need to be dried in order to be somewhat crispy, and then start breaking them apart.
always wear gloves, never had much of a problem harvesting leaf as when i was harvesting seed, the pods seem to be 100x stickier with resin and its the only time ive gotten nicotine poisoning through my fingers.
5 plants, given they are like 1.5ft to 2ft tall should produce something like a handful of seed or somewhere around 30,000 seeds.
enjoy

So I don't have to worry about them falling off the plants? The seeds will form within the flower pods?
Thanks. I have 1-2 3-3.5 feet Rustica plants I planted alone and have much root space and I have the rest clumped together and they are much shorter. I should get lots of seeds.

They'll only fall off the plant once they're fully dry, so get them when they're mostly brown maybe partly green still. N. rustica is one of the easiest plants to harvest seeds from.

If rustica is anything like other tobacco species for prolific seeding i would be too worried at all. My tobacco plants flowered and seeded for about 3 months, they created huge seed heads. When they are brown and they start to split open grab them then, leave them somewhere that is really warm and has lots of air flow. If you just leave them in a bucket like i did once, the whole lot will rot very quickly. From 20 plants i got about 3kg of seed, i think your seeds will be just fine.

Well heres a quick update. Many of the little flower heads are giving way to fat pouches of what i suppose are forming seeds. They feel really fat. There must be hundreds of little seeds in each pouch. I didn't know they would form so quick. I'll post pics later on my grow log.
Thanks for the info. it looks like i'll have no shortage of seeds for next season. The one N. Rustica I let grow alone with plenty of root space is still growing taller. it's passing 4 feet tall now. The others were more crunched together. They were in the same pot. The problem was the seeds are so small. Just a bit larger than poppy seeds. i put a bunch in a little cell pot and I had dozens and dozens of seedlings. I finally picked 5-6 to tranplant and put 1 in it's own pot and the rest in a larger pot. I was afraid the roots were intertwined so i just put the one pot tranplanted in the garden together and the single Rustica by itself it's by far the best one. I'll get several thousand seeds from her.
Heres the tallest

Heres a lone Flowering Rustica

Heres a few clumped together
