I suppose my question is:
Have you read it?
And if so, what was your opinion of it?
I'm also curious if you had aquainted yourself with the Q'uran and how would you compare the two?

I know, thats sort of 4 questions, but to me it is one BIG question.

Usually people read the books before they review them.
I'll be on pins and needles.

The Stephen Mitchell translation is one of the best and most readable translations. It is THE classic example of Hindu Bhakti Yoga - the path of devotion. The battlefield is understood by the majority of Hindus to be an inner reality, not a historical event. Krishna is the Self - the Param Atman - the Transcendent Brahman Who is immanent into the 'field' of human consciousness. Arjuna is the Jivatman - the embodied ego. The main teaching is 'Do what you must do in life, but dedicate the fruits of one's work to God.' Another way of putting it is, 'when there is a task to do, become the task and relinquish the doer. It is the Indian version of 'I live, yet not I, Christ liveth in me.'

Even simple Hindus understand the inner-directedness of their scriptures. It is odd that Christians rarely understand this, and repeat dramas that they take to be primarily historical, ad nauseum. If Christ is not born, crucified, resurrected and ascended in the inner life of the believer...the historical event at Calvary was for nothing.

The BG book has the 9th and 10th Mandala praising hundreds of verses regarding the sacred drug-plant Soma, included in the test is the mention of the urine-drinking.
