hi,
your problem might be the strain it sounds like it's been degenerated, or you might have a bacteria. you said you cased the cake and there are no pins. have you adjusted the humidity and tempature, or maybe you just need to cold shock the cake by putting it in the refridgerater for about 24hrs. well experiment with different things like temp. and cold shocking it might help out a little bit. zapotec

Thank you for responding. I will try the cold shock. I don't think it's degenerated, I bought it from Spore Works. The problem might be that I made the syringe myself from the print. It was one of my first times, and maybe I messed up. I was still curious about why that one pooped up so fast, but there is still nothing else. The mushroom ended up growing to about an inch and a half, and I guess it was an abort, because the deformity got worse, and it started dropping spores, and then mycelium was growing all over the stem. I am ready to give up on this attempt. I just got 2 new syringes from PF today.
