the last rave i went to back in january was in chicago. someone started a fire in the first floor bathroom. it was in an abandoned building, and quite illegal so naturally everyone scattered and the party was over.

some dick sack in a cat in the hat-hat sold us some bunk x too.

the funny thing is Paladin is actually a college Frat boy. which i think he is out of college now though. he is one of those dj's that will get fucked up with you out in the crowd when hes not playing

i never got into the kandi thing, though.

no its like either 16+ or 18+ but the majority of the crowd is 18+. this is like a 2 day 2 night long rave event with a few stages set up. get there early to get a good campground spot. you can walk around freely smokin bud doin whatever since there is pretty much no police there.

oh ok you are serious. sweet. umm how much cash you willing to throw out there? beginner... go with 2 stanton turntables.. maybe a stanton mixer.. or a Behringer mixer. get a GOOD set of headphones. that is key. get sony or pioneer dj headphones. for the needles get ortofon or Shure. i use shure m44 i think

if you practice at it, get good then look into a setup like mine

2 technics 1210MK5's , sony headphones, Ortofon/shure needles, behringer active studio monitors, Pioneer mixer... should run you betweeon $1,500- $2,200

oh! and for recording purposes. get the M-Audio sound card for your computer. it hooks up to the back of your mixer so you can record your sets live.

Eh... I'd skip vinyl and go for CD. Vinyl is heavy, expensive, and doesn't last as long. 2x CDJ200s and a DJM707 if you can find one is a decent, fairly cheap setup. Stay away from Behringer -- they are utter shit. I guess it really depends on what kind of music you want to play but most edm genres have a substantial amount of mp3/cd releases to complement the vinyl releases.

an nah there is good behringer mixers out there. they have some shitty ones, but i've played on some ones that i was very impressed with.

its all up to dude though on what he likes best.

i recommend getting cd and vinyl. Vinyl is just way too expensive. when i was first buying my decks, i was going to get cd's, but at the last minute, i decided to go vinyl. something that i regret to this day.
i'm glad that i did learn on vinyl, although i think i would actually jump on them more if i had more tunes.
