I enjoy reading Terence McKenna. He had a flare with writing and articulating. He may have been wrong about some things, but he was an explorer. He's helped me understand certain experiences I've had, better than I could've on my own. He was a beautiful dude, don't see what's not to like about him...

I've done similar things as what he did with his voice, on DMT. I can't say it changed my DNA,
You similarly changed DNA without changing DNA
AND
You made a sound with your mouth.
What an amazing person! Teach me next.
You simply misunderstand what I said. I meant that with my vocal chords I made similar sounds as Terence McKenna (while on DMT). No need to be uptight...you ceaselessly are unhelpful and rude to me and others, why? "What an amazing person!"

I might be missing out on a huge part of this discussion... BUT
I read True Hallucinations a while back. McKenna discussed his trip to the Amazon, wherein which he, his brother, and some traveling companions went searching for an obscure tribal administration of DMT, but ended up just eating gigantic amounts of mushrooms and smoking B. caapi on a daily basis.
Through their mushroom exploration, Terence's brother Dennis "realized" that he could induce trancelike states, gain Akashic wisdom, and alter space/time and DNA through certain vocal modulations. His ontological assumptions were rapidly disproven by his own companions, and his deteriorating mental condition at that time is reflected upon in the same book I mentioned before. Terence was not some lunatic who took down too much drugs. He was a VERY RATIONAL PERSON who took down too much drugs.
OC, I'm disappointed in you for taking McKenna's ideas out of context to portray him as a lunatic.

There was no audio CD with "True Hallucinations" yet you know the sounds were similar.
Amazing!

An emotional and inaccurate assessment of those holding a different belief than the quotee. Hardly up to academic standards.

Amazing!
I've heard quite a few people make use of their vocal chords in strange ways on DMT, you should try it some time I intuitively understand that Terence was doing the same sort of thing, making peculiar tones that are otherwise hard to make when sober. It vibrates your whole body intensely, and sometimes can end in convulsions. It can also sound like a war-cry
Doubt me all you want Orgone, it's not my mind that's closed in this matter...

I have always had great respect for TM. He was a great and IMO, courageous explorer.

I had this experience myself while high dosing shrooms on a mountainside where I spent an amazing night by myself and some wild hallucinations. I have always enjoyed and respected TM.

Terrence McKenna was a mystic shaman. Not a philosopher.

Were all philosophers.
What, by the way is a Mystic Shaman? Did you make that up?
