casing over hyphal knots

I have a big tub of poo that has started pinning very nicely, evenly as well infact.
I was wondering if I would be able to apply a thin casing layer just for extra substance so the shrooms can be a bit stronger and even out the flush or if I should just let it flush.
Like I said the flush is pretty even anyway and it seems to be pinning really well so I`m not necessarily seeing the need for a casing layer except for knowing it's a good idea.

when I applied casing over knots, I got deformed fruits, with broken caps.

If you already have knots & are going to case. There is not much you can do. A light caseing layer should not cause any problems. So long as the moisture & PH level of the casing layer is near that of the substrate. If it is not? The knots tend to get shocked by the application of the casing layer. Some existing ones die off, others regroup & push on up. Others should also form & push up.

Well I sprinkled a thin casing layer over just to make extra moisture available.
I checked on it this morning and it`s all good, mushrooms pushing through the casing now as well.
I made sure the casing layer was still at a good temperature so as not to shock any mushrooms.
Mushrooms everywhere , nothing like a rubbermaid filled with shrooms
