Green meanie attacks :(

This is my first grow and have had no contam problems until now.

Woke up this morning and noticed some green meanie on my cakes.




Which is really disappointing because i thought they were doing really well.

I was looking through my previous pictures looking for signs and i think this is the start of it. It must have spread to the other cakes :frown:


Here is my Fruiting Chamber. Temps have been hovering around 60f-74f with 94%-100% humidity.


Im going to toss all the cakes and hope the second batch does better.

Possible problems i need some clarification on:
  • The cakes sat in the FC for 10days before pins formed, did i birth them too early?
  • I was misting once to three times a day before pins formed, is this correct or did i aid the green meanie?
  • I was misting with spring water, should i have boiled the water to kill contams before misting? or maybe some h202?
  • If i used micropore taped on the drill holes, would this hurt air exchange?
  • Before fanning should i hose the room down in lysol?

That looks like bruising to me. Even if it was trich the mushrooms would still be ok for human consumption.

Try the qtip test if the green comes off on the qtip it is contaminated otherwise its just bruising.

I think he means keep growing them, and they are good once finished. I would personally do exactly that. Some people would argue otherwise, but fruits from a greening cake aren't poisonous. AFOAF has done so with no negative consequence. Keep going, what do you have to loose?
