It has to be either Lateralus or Third Eye. I would have to go with Lateralus, it's tough to choose between those two.

93 Well, it might be different for the moment considering all their amazing material, but overall I'll have to give the nod to third eye(especially the live version added to the opiate cd with extras) Very honorable mentions: -No quarter cover -Eon blue apocalypse/ the patient -Intension/right in two -46&2 -the grudge -d/r/t -4* -You lied -Jerk off Edit- Dear Nuit, I forgot Disgustipated! 93 93/93

relevant bump
I can't pick a favorite tool song. A couple of my favorites are the 1998 slow versions (Salival) of pushit, also Third Eye from the Pomona, CA show in 1996 where MJK's voice cracks at the end. Those older shows were loaded with much more intensity than the studio albums could ever capture. When i was in college i printed out the lyrics to Eulogy and posted it on my dorm room door. I think some people thought i was crazy but the people who were down were like, "this guy rocks!" lol. it's an easy way to find like-minded people in a sea of conformists. My favorite live show would be any of them from the last leg of the 2002 tour where they played d/r/t. Those alex grey banners that came down blew me away.

my favorite right now would have to be Rosetta Stone. pure insanity

Man anyone of you heard the Opiate album? Lateralus and newer just doesn't hold a even a candle to that album. I really don't care for their newer stuff as much as I did their older. I like it, but it's just too similar in style to APC. I liked when there was a definite line of melody and sound difference, other than the voice.

Ehh, i might as well upload the whole show for you guys. Sober is going to be out of order. I bet a lot of you haven't heard this stuff. It's fun to just listen to em talk and goof around. You don't get that at a tool show these days. Here's the setlist (bear in mind that this recording isn't top quality and the taper didn't get all the songs in it. http://www.collectiveunconscious.org/91to9791dates91.html
Cold and Ugly Undertow Sober Crawl Away (with Ozzy's "Crazy Train" intro) Sweat Swamp Song 4 degrees Hush (cuts into... incomplete) Opiate (cut off )
