you could always just do a ziplock bag i believe.. or something like that, although as the weigh increases so does the risk of contams.

Just buy one of those huge bags that are used to sterilize substrates in the PC. Then install an innoculation patch thing like on the Myco-Bags. Fill with whatever substrate, PC and innoculate. Then wait 2-4 months for colonization

Thats pretty much the only way a home-grower can do it, i think.

Well, you could produce something like that using a filter patch bag (or an oven bag, if you're die-hard lo-tek). The problem you will have with this has already been stated - as the amount of substrate increases, so does your risk of contams. It sucks to lose a cake/casing or two in a terrarium, but it would REALLY suck to lose that much substrate. My cat lost a 12x18x6 casing a few days ago due to green mold, and he was pretty bummed out.

The 'pros' can use bigger cakes/casings because they have the facilities to produce them in much more sterile conditions than most home growers have access to.

Check out the Straw Ball Tek, though. It might give you some ideas.
