kevkaos I've had some odd growths myself, these were unattached to anything, they were brown all over, it was like a cap formed from nothing but there was no veil and no place for a stem to attach, it was just fleshy cap with a few malformed gills inside

I actually experienced the same problem with some orissa spores I bought from a non-vendor a couple months ago.. The company kinda rhymes with Spores Have-No-Fun!! Nothin' but Myc piss and fungal blobs on my casing.. I was actually contemplating killing myself... Until I received a divine message from one of the Psilocybe Saints known as St. Paul Menace who introduced me to a faultless strain that I have not looked back on... Nor shall I ever!

Give them a nice cold shock, and see if that helps them turn over. It can't hurt, but it might help...

Aw man, I'm trying to get a print of that P.Menace strain it seems to have a real good reputation on here but for some reason I can't get into the marketplace yet, I think I have the criteria to get in but can't find it!

It does something - it slows growth to a crawl for a little while and gives contams a little window to take hold while the mycellium is still slow to react. That's at least something.

I am having trouble with these things too these lumps. I have been spending hours on this site trying to figure out why they are there. Alot of people that have them have fluctuating temps into the eighties then down to the seventies, or sixties to seventies, bad air exchange, not enough light, or humidity problems. On other posts I have read it seems like they are some form of mutant that maybe Lysol has caused? Some people get pins on a second flush some don't also. I do not know but I cleaned out my entire set up, perlite, tubs everything last night and regulated everything really well. The cakes look a little different today they had aerial growth which no longer is there and I think I see some small pins. If I figure anything out I will post. I hope it works out for ya

Rumor control - Lysol doesn't cause mutants.
If used nearby mycellium, but never allowed to actually touch it, the fumes will have no effect.
Lysol is mostly concentrated alcohol. If it contacts living myc tissue directly, it will kill the tissue. This usually results in pins/ect. aborting and other tissue just remaining dead (and vulnerable to contamination) until the surviving mycellium can recolonize that area. It does not change the genetic code of anything, so it doesn't cause mutations. If a growing mushroom has some cells killed but does not abort, then the remaining cells may grow and this uneven growth will cause a deformation. Clones made from the living areas, however, would produce the original shroom without the Lysol deformities.

oh ok I just thought it may be a possibility not because of the anti mold/fungus/bacteria/etc ingredients. I was thinking it was because chemicals in foods made today have been shown to stimulate weird growths including cancer in humans. I was thinking that another ingredient in it got on the cake through the humidity since I sprayed down my fc with Lysol three weeks prior and the cake had drops on it. Then I thought one of the ingredients not the disinfectant ingredients stimulated weird growths. Any who, whatever it was, Everything I did the night before got them pinning. So if you are having the blob problem I would suggest Cleaning everything out completely and perfectly regulating their environment. It worked for me.
