just curious... r u cultivating at home or in the jungle? lol
i think i have told u before, you have to make a close-lid terrarium. you cant just leave your shrooms vulnerable to crickets, worms... i mean whats next? rats?
secondly, where on earth is located your terrarium? you have to move it to a place where its safe, e.g. your bedroom [thats where i have it]. dont search for answers if pepper kills crickets, because probably there is no answer to be found. you have to secure your terrarium imho

I have had the EXACT same problem. I have sprinkled every kind of pepper, repeatedly and HEAVILY around my outdoor guys, I have my own salty ring of death (recharged regularly), I have even placed a small container of beer out there and it actually worked to drown a few slugs... but some mystery critter keeps gnawing my outdoor pins down to slimy stumps every time I get some promising ones. Now you tell me I need to think about crickets?!
I'm about to give up on outdoor cultivation altogether (and I'm just getting started).
It is just too frustrating (and a waste) to keep the local bug/slug population stoned

First off let me say ...... I think it is great you grow..........."in the jungle" !
Some of this will get long winded .
The slugs .....salt is good , but do not rely soely on it , it can become harmul to your substate . Mix in the use of little bowls full of beer, bowls must be easy to climb in ....... yes beer they like it , but fall into it and drown , some crickets will to go in beer . They are the tough one , I will get info from a bug man , but he likes chemicals, and get back to you .
Manual control works good but is not quick , catch any and all lizzards you see , put them in area , catch wolf spiders ....if possible , and the best squash any and all crickets you can find,see ,hunt down on property ...... THIS IS WAR ! Remove any and all places they hide , tough to do though , the little bastards hide everywhere and travel .
Also do web search for "GARDENING" , check around with them , that is where I know some of this natural stuff .
I say avoid chemical methods .
Also try surrounding your fruiting patches with an open top cylindar min 6 inches tall , use something slick (smooth) , this will aide in stopping crickets ability to climb . Use aluminum foil inside and out if needed to make slick surface on cylindar.

when I go hunting I find these beatles with red dots on their packs eating pan subs/pan sphinx...how ever you say them.Anyway I saw this thing on natural bug spray for plants and I think it might work on shrooms if it doesnt kill plants.It was like water/peroxide/listorine some shit like that I will try and find it and post it...

Sorry about that guys, we crickets know a good thing when we eat it.
I have some experience gardening organically, If I were you I would sprinkle the diatomatious earth
around your experiment and then spray the area with garlic juice mixed with a little dish soap.
(soak 10 mashed up garlic cloves in water overnight---strain and add a little soap to the mix. spray the
area around where you are growing. Animals and insects dont like the smell and stay away. The diatomatious
earth is really ground up diatomes (prehistoric microscopic fossels that are sharp as hell to creepy crawlies but
looks like powder to us) you can get this in the pest controll area at wallmart or most gardening shops. This
will stop slugs in their tracks. Good luck
