then you can read and then alter your substrates to favor cubies and not other mushrooms/contams.

you'll have a much higher chance of success if you use grain spawn to inoculate instead of myc. water or spores.
such a jar will need to coonize very fast to succeeed, that's where tossing in a cup or 2 of colonized grain spawn will pay off.
