    #8493886 - 06/06/08 06:54 PM (15 years, 8 months ago)

These are from my little grow i did behind my house. I took stem butts and put them in fallen trees, cactu told me about this so thanx cactu. Got the stem butts from those oysters i posted a while back. The bugs got em good but i wasnt trying too pick em so they would spread down the log and they have done good so far, the first time they fruited it was just two now this. Peace

Early in the season I often find carrion beetles humping and gyrating all over the oysters.:)

Nice oysters (except for the bugs.)

Do they (carrion beetles) ever actually penetrate?

I'm pretty sure they must have microweiners and or microgahses.  They must find the fertile area of oysters intriguing/shagadellic.

yeah they started fruiting on the log i inoculated with stem butts a few weeks after doing so. The first flush was small so i left em there too hopefully spread out sum and they did. These guys as well i left too rot and spread the spore love. Im hoping they will spread even more and ill finally get a good flush too harvest and eat. Its so much fun too know that i did this, very rewarding for my self-esteem im proud too say the least. Is that what those beetles are called danny? I always find em in oysters always the same kind of beetles too. Little bastard eat em up quick. When i find a new oyster find i always tap the caps too see what falls out. If there are not alot of bugs i pick em. This was the only log out of the 8 i knocked up that fruited. I need too try sum more and see if itll work. What types of trees do they prefer too fruit on, or does that not matter.

Nice find.  I went out all day hunting for them and came up with nothing but some deadly Galerinas and a few Mycenas.  Lots of rain but too early (I think).

I think Oysters taste better off of Elm or Cottonwood.
