An undercover operation led to the arrest of five Virginia residents on Tuesday for possessing and selling hallucinogenic drugs, most of which were intended for people attending last weekend's Mountain Jam concert in Hunter.
After receiving a tip that hallucinogenic substances were being sold at a motel on state Route 32 in Saugerties, members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team conducted an undercover operation which resulted in the arrests and a search warrant.
A search of the motel room yielded 500 'hits' of LSD, several hundred tablets of ecstasy, hallucinogenic mushrooms, two pounds of hashish, several pounds of marijuana, numerous illegal prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia and over $14,000, police said.
Arrested were Mark Reese Hight, 25, of Thaxton, Va., Rory Wayne Lacy, 29, of Alta Vista, Va., Brian Jeffrey Wilson, 34, of Beford, Va., Jennifer Horswell, 21, of Richmond, Va., and Brandon McDaniel, 25, of Lynchburg, Va.
All five were charged with possession of drugs and possession of marijuana, both felonies. Additionally, Hight was charged with two counts of selling drugs and two counts of possessing drugs, all felonies.
Police said they believe the defendants transported the drugs from Virginia with the intent of distributing them in northern Ulster and southern Greene counties, mostly to people attending the music festival.
The defendants were arraigned in the Saugerties Town Court and sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.

I believe you are correct. Saugerties and Hunter are both in NY State.
Nonetheless, that sucks for them. There will be some serious charges stemming from their arrest owing to the quantities involved.
